CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Cleveland faithful are in for an October to remember.
The Guardians started their postseason run at Progressive Field against the Chicago White Sox in Game 1 of the American League Division Series on Saturday.
“Cleveland in 3!” fans chanted. “Let’s go Guards!”
The winner of the best-of-five series will move on to play either the New York Yankees or the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALCS.
Game 2 is set for Monday in Cleveland. First pitch is at 5 p.m.
The Guardians aren’t the only team at the center of this city’s pride. The Browns are off to a 3-1 start for the first time since 2021 after a 27-24 win over the Steelers.
“It’s great to be a Cleveland fan,” one fan said. “We’re on top.”
The Browns next take on the Jets in East Rutherford on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. ET.
