Jello Biafra has donated a rare recording of the famed “Shot Heard ‘Round the World” radio broadcast to the Giants Archives.
The former Dead Kennedys frontman donated a 12-inch, 78 rpm reference acetate featuring announcer Russ Hodges’ radio call of Bobby Thomson’s pennant-winning home run.
The donation coincides with the 75th anniversary of Thomson’s October 3rd, 1951 home run, which sent the then-New York Giants to the World Series.
Biafra is currently still recovering from a hemorrhagic stroke he suffered this past March.
