The Gold Glove Awards recognize individual fielding performances at each position. Winners are chosen from each league through a combination of votes from MLB managers and coaches and the SABR Defensive Index.

First baseman Vinnie Pasquantino, second baseman Michael Massey, third baseman Nick Loftin and shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. were all named finalists.

Witt has been a finalist twice before, in 2024 and 2025, winning both times.

Witt won the Rawlings Platinum Glove Award, an elite honor given to the top defender in the league, in 2025.

Pasquantino, Massey and Loftin are all first-time finalists.

The Royals shouted out their finalists on social media Wednesday.
