NEW YORK, NY. (Heartland News) – Three St. Louis Cardinals were announced as finalists at their positions for the 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards. The Chicago Cubs and Toronto Blue Jays lead the way with five nominations each.
Cardinals’ Michael McGreevy(P), JJ Wetherholt(2B), and Masyn Winn(SS) were named as finalists to win the Gold Glove at their individual positions.
For the Cubs, Alex Bregman(3B), Dansby Swanson(SS), Ian Happ(LF), Pete Crow-Armstrong(CF), and Seiya Suzuki(LF) were named as Gold Glove finalists.
The Kansas City Royals finalists include selections at all four infielder positions: Vinnie Pasquantino(1B), Michael Massey(2B), Nick Loftin(3B), and Bobby Witt Jr.(SS).
The Gold Glove Award winners are determined by votes from all 30 Major League Baseball Managers and up to six coaches from each team. The voters vote on a pool of players from their own leagues, but can’t vote on players from their own team. The votes account for 75% of the selection total. The other 25% comes from the SABR Defensive Index.
The winners will be named on November 1, 2026.
