One Gold Glove didn’t get Ty France a big-league deal.

A second one will only help his free-agent case.

Both France and catcher Freddy Fermin were named finalists for an NL Gold Glove on Wednesday. The winners will be announced Nov. 1.

The 32-year-old France leads all first basemen with 15 defensive runs saved, according to FanGraphs.com. Braves finalist Matt Olson ranks second in defensive runs saved (11) and Rockies finalist T.J. Rumfield (6) ranks fifth.

Last year, France finished second in defensive runs saved (9) en route to winning the AL Gold Glove Award for first base.

France signed a minor league deal with the Padres and went on to pair a career-high 21 homers with an .865 OPS as the team’s MVP, as voted on by the San Diego chapter of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.

Fermin is a finalist for the NL catcher award alongside the Mets’ Luis Torrens, a former Padre, and the Diamondbacks’ Gabriel Moreno.

Moreno finished second to the Tigers’ Dillon Dingler (15) in defensive runs saved with 14. Torrens (12) was third and Fermin (8) was tied for sixth.

Three noteworthy Padres were left off the finalists’ list.

Manny Machado was tied for eighth with minus-3 defensive runs saved despite leading all third basemen with a .990 fielding percentage. The Cubs’ Alex Bregman (15 defensive runs saved), the Dodgers’ Max Muncy (2) and the Marlins Javier Sanoja (5) were the NL finalists for third base.

Fernando Tatis Jr. was tied for 20th in defensive runs saved in right field (2) and was worth minus-4 at second base. He was not named a finalist at either position or the utility spot.

Center fielder Jackson Merrill finished 10th among all center fielders with 1 defensive run saved. The NL finalists for center field were the Cubs’ Pete Crow-Armstrong (16 DRS), the Braves’ Michael Harris II (9) and the Dodgers’ Andy Pages (20).

“Manny had a great year defensively,” Padres manager Craig Stammen said on a year-end conference call on Wednesday. ” …  Really, if you’re thinking about Gold Glove or best defenders in all of baseball, those guys (Machado, Tatis, Merrill) deserve some accolades and at least deserve to be in that conversation of winning the Gold Glove. Our defense this year was definitely an advantage that we had over a lot of teams, where if the ball was hit to us, we made the play, and we made it better than anybody else. So, a little disappointed that some of those guys don’t get the recognition that they deserve. But in this Zoom call, they’re going to get the recognition.”
