SYRACUSE 7, BUFFALO 6 (BOX)
Syracuse and Buffalo went back and forth early on in this one. Buffalo ran out to a 2-0 lead in the second, but the Mets got both runs back in the third. Syracuse went ahead 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, but would give it back in the top of the sixth — only to score four runs in the bottom of the frame to finally give one team a larger edge.
Despite that edge, Buffalo almost came back to tie it in the ninth, hitting a three run home run off of Dedniel Núñez, though the righty would close the door despite the push by the Bisons.

BINGHAMTON 4, SOMERSET 3 (BOX)
Look, the story of this game is Jonah Tong. The offense did enough, running out to a 4-1 lead, which ended up being enough for a bullpen that did some bending but no breaking.
Tong, however, was excellent. Across five innings he did not surrender a single hit, walked three, and struck out eleven. Despite his mediocre 4-3 record (wins and losses are not a pitcher stat!!) in Double-A, he lowered his ERA there to 2.02, and is continuing to make his case as the top prospect in the Mets system.

WILMINGTON 2, BROOKLYN 0 (BOX)
Well, there is not much that happened in this loss. The Cyclones have been a wagon all season, especially offensively, but they were completely stymied tonight. Wilmington starter Travis Sthele threw a one hitter, despite striking out just two batters. He did not issue any walks either (he did hit a batter, though!). Jonathan Santucci was good for Brooklyn but not that good, and Matt Allan struggled in relief of him, getting tagged with the loss.
