Northern Nash High School has named Lane Butler as its new varsity head baseball coach. Butler is currently serving Northern Nash students as a science teacher and will begin his coaching duties immediately.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the next head baseball coach of Northern Nash High School,” Butler said. “I am excited to build a team and a culture that can be defined by discipline, accountability and commitment. I have been around this group for several years now, so I know they are willing to put in the work and the results will follow.”

“I have high expectations for our student-athletes. With Coach Butler leading our baseball program, I believe there will be renewed energy,” said Mike Girouard, Principal of NNHS. “Coach Butler brings a passion for the game and a clear vision for the baseball program. He is getting a special opportunity in a special place. I am confident that Coach Butler will make the most of this opportunity and has my full support.”

Northern Nash High School Athletic Director Joey Keefe shared similar sentiments. Keefe, the former baseball coach, said “I have seen the passion and determination from Coach Butler over the last few years, and I have great confidence in his ability and the efforts that he will put into this program for years to come. I can’t wait to see what he can do with the team as we move forward with him at the helm.”

Angie Miller, Special Assistant of Auxiliary Services, Operations and Athletics, says, “We are excited to welcome Coach Butler as the new head baseball coach. We look forward to the leadership, experience and passion for the game that he will bring to our student-athletes and athletic program. We are confident that he will help our players grow both on and off the field while continuing to build on a program centered on teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship and academic success.”
