LOS ANGELES, CA—While the 2026 Major League Baseball postseason remains in play, the offseason has officially begun for the Los Angeles Dodgers after their anticlimactic series sweep at the hands of the National League champion Milwaukee Brewers.
After the conclusion of the 2026 Fall Classic, the Dodgers are set to have a total of nine free agents hit the open market, an increase from five last season.
While the list reads as nine, it is essentially eight, as veteran infielder Miguel Rojas announced his retirement from Major League Baseball after the Dodgers’ Game Four loss.
Free Agents
(9): Blake Treinen, Evan Phillips, Kris Bubic, Miguel Rojas, Kiké Hernández, Alex Vesia, Brusdar Graterol, Eric Lauer, Tarik Skubal
Blake Treinen
Veteran right-hander Blake Treinen’s season ended during the final week of September after a right shoulder setback that forced him off the Dodgers postseason roster.
Treinen returned to Los Angeles after his 2024 World Series heroics on a 2-year, $14 million contract, and now the 38-year-old will be without a home entering an offseason that may be the final season of his career.
Evan Phillips
Right-hander Evan Phillips missed all of 2025 and returned toward the middle of the 2026 regular season due to Tommy John surgery. However, in his games played, he was very effective, going 3-2 with a 3.46 ERA.
Still, Phillips will be entering his age 33 season and has already missed significant time due to right elbow/arm injuries, and with multiple pitchers in the pipeline, it’s not hard to see the Dodgers moving on.
Kris Bubic
Acquired at the trade deadline, left-hander Kris Bubic is likely to get a contract this Winter as a starter, since that was his primary role before injuries derailed his 2026 season.
Bubic was an All-Star in 2025 and, with a thin free-agent market, could land a nice contract from a team desperate for starting pitching.
Miguel Rojas
Shortly after the conclusion of Game Four of the NLCS, veteran utility infielder Miguel Rojas announced his retirement from Major League Baseball, bringing an end to his 13-year playing career.
Rojas is expected to remain with the Dodgers organization in a player devleopment/coaching role.
Kiké Hernández
October hero Kiké Hernández is hitting free agency yet again this Winter, and after a subpar performance in October, minus one huge home run off Chris Sale in the NLDS, not much is known about whether the Dodgers will try to run it back for another 1-year deal.
Overall, Hernández missed most of the season while recovering from elbow surgery and an oblique injury and hit 4 home runs in 90 at-bats while posting a below-average 82 OPS+.
The fan favorite will enter his age-36 season, likely ending his Dodgers tenure for the second time.
Alex Vesia
Arguably the biggest free agent from the Dodgers bullpen this Winter is left-hander Alex Vesia, who has likely pitched his way to a sizable multi-year contract that the Dodgers might not be inclined to match.
Vesia, 30, posted an elite 2.64 ERA and struck out 74 batters despite a below-average fastball velocity, but with backend pitching at a premium, his market is likely to be heavy.
Brusdar Graterol
Brusdar Graterol’s career has been defined by injuries, and that likely will force his time in Dodger Blue to come to an end this Winter.
Despite a 2.78 career ERA, the right-hander has pitched only 7.1 innings for the Dodgers since the 2024 regular season, missing the entire 2025 and 2026 seasons due to right shoulder surgery.
Eric Lauer
Like Bubic, left-hander Eric Lauer will enter the market as a starting pitcher, and after a second-half renaissance with the Dodgers, where he went 7-2 with a 4.50 ERA, he could be a dependable backend starter to eat innings for a variety of clubs.
Tarik Skubal
The consensus No. 1 free agent this Winter across baseball is two-time AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal, who is set to demand a massive multi-year contract that could go north of $400 million.
While the Dodgers will no doubt be involved, it’s hard to imagine them matching that while already having so many long-term deals tied up, especially in their starting rotation already.
Skubal is likely to sign before the MLB lockout on December 1st to maximize his contract, such as fellow Scott Boras client Corey Seager did after the 2021 season.
