The Athletics look to bounce back from a loss when they host the Seattle Mariners in the third and final game of the series on Wednesday afternoon. The Athletics took the first game on Monday in extra innings, but they couldn’t make it two in a row against the Mariners, as they lost 5-3 on Tuesday.
The A’s looked like they were going to get another win and pull into a first place tie with Seattle, but the Mariners scored three times in the top of the ninth to steal the game away. The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the A’s and it was just their third loss in the last 10 games. The A’s now sit at 20-17 on the season and they are two games back of the Mariners in the American West. Wednesday they will send Gunnar Hoglund to the mound as they try to pick up another big win over the Mariners. Hoglund made his MLB debut on Friday and he was great. He went six inning and gave up just one run to earn a win over the Miami Marlins.

The Mariners are hoping they can make his second start worse, as they look to pick up a big road series win over the streaking A’s.
The Mariners will send Bryan Woo to the mound looking to get that win. Woo comes into Wednesday 4-1 with a 2.58 ERA.
Woo was great in his last start, as he gave up just one hit and no runs in 6.1 innings against the Texas Rangers.
The Mariners will return home for six games after the game on Wednesday. They will play a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees.
