The Reds have spent most of the season hovering around the .500 mark, though they enter this series a few games under after a 2-5 stretch over the past seven games. Their offense is a smidge above average, scoring 4.42 runs per game, while their pitching has been pretty good with a 3.80 ERA that is tied for the fifth-best mark in the National League. LF/DH Austin Hays has been their best hitter; he has a .303/.346/.555 mark with six homers in 119 at-bats. SS Elly De La Cruz is hitting .257 with 12 homers and 19 steals but has struck out 75 times in 241 at-bats. They have been getting strong performances from several starters, including LHP Andrew Abbott (2.18 ERA), RHP Hunter Greene (2.72 ERA) and LHP Nick Lodolo (3.10 ERA), but Greene recently landed on the injured list with a groin strain. RHP Emilio Pagan has received most of the save chances, converting 15 of 17 opportunities with a 3.71 ERA. The Reds have moved on from RHP Alexis Diaz, their former closer, trading him to the Dodgers last month.
