KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
Three Kansas City Royals have been named finalists for a prestigious leaguewide award.
Shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., catcher Carter Jensen and outfielder Jac Caglianone are in the running for the 2026 Silver Slugger Awards.
The Silver Slugger Awards honor the best hitter at each position in both the American League and the National League. Finalists and winners are determined by a vote of managers and coaches, who cannot vote for their own team.
The Royals are one of five teams to have at least three finalists in 2026, tied with the Tigers, the Brewers and the Cubs. The White Sox have four finalists.

Witt, 26, won the Silver Slugger Award in each of the last two seasons. If he wins again, he will be the first AL shortstop to win in three straight seasons since Derek Jeter in 2006-2009. Witt would also be the first Royal to win the award in three consecutive seasons.
Witt is up against Kevin McGonigle of the Tigers and Zach Neto of the Angels.
Jensen, 23, is a finalist as a rookie, ranking first of all catchers in the American League for runs and doubles. He tied for first in home runs with 27 and ranked second in RBI and walks.
Jensen would be the second Royals catcher to earn the award after five-time winner Salvador Perez. He would be only the fifth rookie catcher to win.
Jensen is up against Dillon Dingler of the Tigers.
Caglianone, 23, ranked among American League players, at all positions, in batting average (fourth), slugging percentage (sixth), doubles (tied for eighth) and OPS (ninth).
Caglianone would be only the second Royals outfielder to win, following Willie Wilson.
Caglianone is up against Wilyer Abreu of the Red Sox, Randy Arozarena of the Mariners, Cody Bellinger of the Yankees, Chase DeLauter of the Guardians, Riley Greene of the Tigers, Tristan Peters of the White Sox, Chandler Simpson of the Rays and Mike Trout of the Angels.
