Garrett Bence threw a complete game as the West Burlington High School baseball team rallied for a 6-3 win over Danville in an SEI Super Conference South Division game Thursday at Danville.

The Bears outhit the Falcons, 11-6, but the Falcons stole 11 bases in the contest — three by Ayden Figuereo and two each by Levi Fletcher-Bates, Brock Thuleen and Bo Begner.

Begner had two hits for the Falcons. Begner and Figuereo each scored two runs and Caleb Bush drove in two runs.

Alex Holtkamp went 3-for-3 with a home run and drove in three runs for the Bears. Noah Horn and Zander Stotlar each had a pair of hits

NEW LONDON 10, NOTRE DAME 9

The Tigers scored six runs in the fifth inning and held off a late Nikes rally in a South Division game at Winegard Field.

Tate Welcher had three hits and scored three runs for the Tigers. Memphis Watson and Gavin Strawhacker each had a pair of hits. Riley Raines drove in a pair of runs with a double.

Jeremiah Crow went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Nikes. Eli Oleson and Kyler Cameron each had two hits. Cameron drove in two runs. Landry Haberichter scored three runs, while Maddox Diewold scored two.

SOFTBALL

NO. 15 WEST BURLINGTON-NOTRE DAME 8, DANVILLE 0

Faith Gibb doubled and drove in three runs and Lacie Felkins drove in two runs to lead Class 3A’s 15th-ranked Falcons to a South Division win at Danville.

Madelyn Thomas scored a pair of runs for the Falcons.

Orayana Gonzalez had two hits, including a double, and picked up the win. She allowed five hits, walked two and struck out four.

Hadley Heuevelman had two hits for the Bears, while Alivia Bauer had a double.

NO. 3 LOUISA-MUSCATINE 7, WAPELLO 0

Kamryn Taylor and Grace Hoopes combined on a three-hit shutout to lead Class 2A’s third-ranked Falcons to a North Division win at Wapello.

Taylor had two hits and drove in a pair of runs. Grace Kissell scored twice.

Quinn Zweibohmer had a double for the Arrows.

HOLY TRINITY 8, NEW LONDON/W-MU 0

Sydney Jarvis struck out eight in a three-hit shutout as the Crusaders rolled in a South Division game at South Park in West Point.

Alivia Holmes, Jarvis and Makayla Simpson each had two hits for the Crusaders. Jarvis drove in two runs and Simpson had a triple and scored twice.

Olivia Hester, Lena Nelson and Katie Miller each had singles for the Tigers.
