Watch baseball player’s emotional reaction to surprise MLB promotion

During a minor league baseball game in Tacoma, Washington, Cole Young was pulled aside and informed he’d been called up to play in the big leagues.

The Tigers host the Chicago Cubs at Comerica Park in a battle of first-place teams on Friday, June 6, with reigning Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal taking the mound for Detroit.

The lefty has been even better in 2025, posting a 2.26 ERA in 12 starts with improvements in nearly every statistical category, leading the Tigers to the best record in Major League Baseball. But Skubal comes up against a tough Cubs lineup, with Chicago leading the league in runs per game.

Cubs outfielders Pete Crow-Armstrong (16 HR, 21 SB) and Kyle Tucker (12 HR, 16 SB) have gotten off to spectacular starts in 2025 and look like early NL MVP candidates.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET and the game is being broadcast exclusively on Apple TV+.
