The Atlanta Braves have been consistent at one thing this season. Disappointing their fans. Just when fans think all is well and that their team has found their footing something falls through the cracks and they’re back in the loss column.

On April 30 the Braves had the chance to give their fans the gift of a .500 record for the first time all season right before a series against the Dodgers. Unfortunately they let that chance slip right through their fingers with a 2-1 loss. The cycle continues.

However, after a narrow 2-1 victory to close out their series against the Dodgers thanks to Austin Riley’s bat, things are looking up yet again for the Braves. On a three game win streak heading into their third game against the Reds Atlanta needs just one more victory to hit that .500 record.

“Be aggressive, b-e aggressive,” @scottcoleman55 posted on X during their most recent game.

The Braves bats waited until the bottom of the tenth inning to be aggressive. Braves DH, Marcell Ozuna hit a walk off RBI single to put the Braves up 2-1 and place them back where they were on April 30, just one game away from that .500 record they’ve been chasing all season.

Riley was intentionally walked, sending the Big Bear to the plate. A big single from Ozuna sent Riley to second and Alex Verdugo jogged home to secure the victory in extra innings.

“It’s a bold strategy,” Kevin Keneely said of the choice to walk Riley.

The Braves have improved from the bottom of the pack to directly in the middle, sitting at third in the NL East as of May 7.

“3’s a streak boys,” Blooper commented on X following the victory.

The streak has Braves fans fired up and sitting with high hopes as they prepare to clinch that .500 record yet again. Being one win away from that record against a team they’ve beaten twice must feel like deja vu, but this time fans are hoping the outcome will be in their favor, just this once.
