Meet the Mets
After splitting a series against the mighty Dodgers, the Mets prepared to feast against easier competition with another series against the Rockies—this one in Denver. Despite playing in Coors Field, the offense struggled for a good chunk of the game, being held scoreless through six innings. A two-run double from Pete Alonso finally got them on the board, and with the game tied in the ninth, Francisco Lindor—pinch-hitting after taking another day off for his broken toe to heal—hit a two-run double of his own to give the Mets a 4-2 lead, which would prove to be the final score.
