The Paintsville Lady Tigers came back from an early 2-0 deficit to tie the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning.

The game eventually went to extra innings.
In the extra inning, Knott Central came away with a 6-4 win in eight innings at Paintsville last Tuesday evening.
Knott Central was able to break into the scoring column early in this one as Callie Sandalin hit a one-out RBI single to put the Lady Patriots out in front 1-0 in the top of the first inning.

After shutting down the Lady Tigers in the bottom of the first inning, the Lady Patriots were looking to add to their led in the top of the second inning. Knott Central’s Bella Hammond was able to reach base on an error letting a Lady Patriot runner to score increasing the lead to 2-0 in the top of the second inning.
Paintsville finally got a chance to break the ice in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Lady Tigers’ Kendra Runyon hit an RBI single to let Paintsville cut Knott Central’s lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Lady Tigers were on the prowl to score again in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Paintsville’s Girer Collins hit a one-out RBI double to tie the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning.
As neither team scored in the seventh inning, the game remained tied at 2-2 and was going to need extra innings to settle this one.
The Lady Patriots wasted little getting going in the top of the eighth inning as Bailey Slone hit a solo home run to put the Lady Patriots back in front 3-2.
The Lady Patriots quickly scored again to increase the lead to 4-2 in the top of the eighth inning.
A couple of batters later, Knott Central’s Kaleigh Laftery hit a double to drive in another run to increase Knott Central’s lead to 5-2 in the top of the eighth inning.
Then on the very next at-bat, the Lady Patriots pushed their lead to 6-2 on a one-out RBI double by Emily Waddell.
Paintsville was able to stop the Lady Patriots’ rally with a double-play to end the top of the eighth inning.
The Lady Tigers were able to cut into Knot Central’s lead and make it 6-3 when Molly Music hit an RBI groundout in the bottom of the eighth inning.
On the next at-bat, the Lady Tigers were able to push another run across on an RBI fly out by Maggie Music to cut into the Lady Patriots’ lead once again making it 6-4.
On the next at-bat, Paintsville was still looking to keep chipping away at Knott Central’s lead, but doomsday struck the Lady Tigers as Knott Central got a fly out to end the Lady Tigers’ rally and the game letting Knott Central sneak away with the 6-4 win in eight innings.
Molly Music took the loss in the circle for Paintsville as she went eight innings giving up five runs (four earned) on seven hits and striking out 14 batters. She was also one of four at the plate with one RBI.
Collins led the Lady Tigers at the plate going two of three with one RBI, one run scored, and walking one time. Maggie Music was one of three at the plate with one run scored, while walking one time. Ruyon was one of three at the plate with one RBI.
With the loss, Paintsville fell to 7-12 overall on the season. Up next for the Lady Tigers will be Thursday, May 8 at home against the Morgan County Lady Cougars set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
Knott Central’s Samara Bailey got the win in the circle going four innings giving up two runs (two earned) on three hits, while striking out one batter and walking one batter.
The Lady Patriots were led at the plate by Slone who was one of one with a home run, one RBI and one run scored. Sandalin was one of two at the plate with one RBI.
With the win, Knott Central improved to 9-11 overall on the season.
