NEW YORK — Rookie Marcelo Mayer again is not in the Red Sox lineup against a left-handed starter.
Boston and New York will play the rubber game of their three-game series on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.
Righty Hunter Dobbins (2-1, 4.06 ERA) will start for the Red Sox opposite lefty Carlos Rodón (8-3, 2.49 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
This is the fourth time in their past six games the Red Sox have faced a left-handed starter. Mayer hasn’t been in the lineup for any of those four games.
Trevor Story will play shortstop. Abraham Toro is at third base and Kristian Campbell is at second base.
