KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino is starting to find his stride after an excellent past week of baseball.

Pasquantino was recognized for his play, earning American League Player of the Week after batting .500 with a 1.305 OPS, .536 OBP and .769 slugging percentage. He also had two home runs and seven RBIs.

He tied a career-high of four hits in the first game of last Thursday’s doubleheader against the Cardinals and reached base four times against the White Sox on Saturday.

Pasquantino hit home runs in consecutive games against the White sox on Friday and Saturday. He started the week with an RBI in five straight games.

Even more impressive, the Virginia native has reached base safely in 24 just consecutive games, good for second in the MLB behind Guardians third baseman José Ramírez, who has a streak of 34. Pasquantino is currently on a nine-game hitting streak.

It is the second time in his career that he’s won player of the week, claiming the award back on August 15, 2022. He is the second Royal to be recognized by the MLB recently, with Kris Bubic winning AL Pitcher of the Month for May.

He will look to continue his outstanding play as the Royals gear up for a three-game series with the Yankees starting Tuesday at 6:40 p.m.
