SYRACUSE 18, BUFFALO 0 (BOX)
Syracuse unleashed a thumping on Buffalo, as Gilberto Celestino and Drew Gilbert provided the 1-2 punch, collecting four RBI apiece. Brandon Sproat earned his third win of the season with six scoreless innings in which he struck out four batters. Max Kranick also contributed 1 2⁄3 scoreless innings in relief with three strikeouts.

SOMERSET 10, BINGHAMTON 4 (BOX)
More important than the outcome of the game is the well being of Jett Williams, who was hit in the head with a 98 mph fastball in last night’s game. He walked off the field under his own power, but did have to leave the game. Williams is having a strong first season in Double-A and it would be a shame if it is disrupted by this incident.

WILMINGTON 8, BROOKLYN 2 (BOX)
A welcome sight: Sean Manaea began a rehab assignment last night with Brooklyn. Manaea was roughed up for four runs (three of them earned) in 1 2⁄3 innings of work in the Cyclones’ defeat at the hands of the Blue Rocks, but the important thing is that Manaea is throwing a baseball in an actual game. Will Watson also got knocked around for three runs on ten hits in four innings of long relief, but he did strike out eight batters.
