Juan Soto has enjoyed matching up with the Diamondbacks so far this season.

On Wednesday afternoon, Soto continued his power surge against Arizona, belting two solo home runs to help the Mets storm off with a 7-1 victory and a series win over the Diamondbacks at Chase Field.

With the Mets searching for offense in the early going against the Dbacks’ Merrill Kelly, Soto opened the scoring with a 427-foot solo shot to center field on a fastball from Kelly to move the Mets ahead 1-0.

After the Mets tacked on two runs in the seventh inning, Soto added some insurance with an opposite-field shot to left field off Diamondbacks lefty reliever Jalen Beeks to give the Mets a 4-0 lead.

Soto now has four home runs in the month of May — all against the Diamondbacks, including a two-home run game at Citi Field on May 1.

“I mean I feel the same,” Soto told reporters. “I’m seeing the ball well. I’m making good decisions now. Now, I’ve squared up a couple of balls and finding a couple of gaps.”

With his 10th multi-hit game of the season on Wednesday, Soto is now slashing .261/.387/.478 with seven home runs, 17 RBI, 29 runs and nine doubles. He was 2-for-4 with three RBI on Wednesday, adding a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning.

After batting .232 and posting a .701 OPS in the month of April, Soto is showcasing what made him the hot commodity and earn a record $765 million contract so far in May. He’s batting .346 with a 1.333 OPS, including six extra-base hits, in seven games so far this month.

“(For) two weeks now, he continues to have really good at-bats, day in and day out,” Carlos Mendoza told reporters. “Finally good to see him going dead center and then the left-on-left, that was pretty impressive. I didn’t think that ball was going to go. He knew right away with his reaction and that ball just kept on going.”
