The Milwaukee Brewers have recalled RHP Easton McGee from Triple-A Nashville, optioning Grant Anderson back to Nashville to open up the active roster spot.

Anderson, 27, was acquired in January for prospect Mason Molina after being DFA’d by the Rangers. He got off to an inauspicious start to the year, allowing four runs in his first 4 2⁄3 innings (7.71 ERA), but he quickly settled in, allowing no earned runs in his next six outings. After his ERA hit a season-low 2.57 in early May, he gave up a run in his next three outings before once again settling down to close out the month with a 2.76 ERA. In three June appearances against the Reds, Padres, and Braves, he’s allowed five runs in just 3 1⁄3 innings, including three runs in Monday night’s loss as he threw 42 pitches.

He’ll look to get right in Nashville, as the move also allows the Brewers to have a fresh arm in McGee.

McGee, also 27, has made exactly one appearance in three of the last four MLB seasons, pitching in a game for the Rays (2022), Mariners (2023), and Brewers (2025), and making him a hack in Immaculate Grid.

He’s allowed just one unearned run in his career, spanning 10 2⁄3 innings with four strikeouts. In his lone outing with the Crew earlier this season, he went one perfect inning, striking out one batter and throwing 16 pitches in an extra-inning loss to the Orioles. In 17 appearances at Triple-A this year, he has a 3.70 ERA with 27 strikeouts over 24 1⁄3 innings. He last pitched an inning on Sunday, throwing 18 pitches.
