With clear skies and a lively crowd in attendance, the stage was set for a competitive afternoon of baseball between two strong 18U AA squads. The LSL Blue Tigers and Laurentides Blue Sox split a doubleheader, each winning a game during a Saturday afternoon game at Denis Boucher Stadium.

After losing the first outing 7-5, the Blue Tigers took control with a demanding 13-1 win in game two after a lunch break under the sun. Vincent Comtois and Eliott DesLauriers took control of the mound in the victory, striking out six batters total.

In the bottom of the first inning, Donovon St-Denis opened the scoring with a two-RBI triple lasered to right-center field, bringing Vincent Comtois and James Giacomo Pawsey across the plate. Moments later, St-Denis tagged up on a sacrifice fly from Jacob Reid, extending the lead to 3–0.

The top of the second inning featured heads-up baserunning from the Blue Sox. After Bryan Barbeau ripped a double and Olivier Marcil followed with a single, Barbeau came around to score on a 4-3-5 double play, putting the visitors on the scoresheet.

The game remained tight until the bottom of the fourth. St-Denis led off with a sharply hit single and quickly stole second. Noah Bélanger capitalized, driving him in with an RBI single to extend the lead. Riding that momentum, LSL erupted for six more runs off their next six batters, blowing the game wide open. Reid capped off the Blue Tigers’ offensive outburst with a three-RBI triple, as St-Denis crossed the plate just steps behind Elijah D’Souza.

Émile Plouffe closed out the inning with high-velocity pitching, sending heaters straight into the catcher’s glove and keeping the Blue Sox off balance.

The LSL Blue Tigers look to build on this momentum and claim the number one spot in their division. They currently sit in second place, with a 6-2 record. n
