CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – New day, new story for the Guardians.
After getting shut out 1-0 by Cincinnati on Tuesday, Cleveland responded with 13 hits in an 11-2 win over the Reds Wednesday afternoon at Progressive Field.
Cincinnati still took 2 of 3 in the series.
Carlos Santana’s 3rd-inning grand slam was the big blow.
It came on the 15-year anniversary of his MLB debut.

Kyle Manzardo added a pinch 2-run double.
Lane Thomas went 3-for-5 and broke the game open with a 3-run homer in the 6th, his first of the season.
Logan Allen (4-4) got the win, going 6 innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 runs while fanning six.
Cleveland (35-32) takes Thursday off then heads to Seattle for a 9-game road trip, with 3 games each against the Mariners, Giants and Athletics.
