Johan Rojas is not really the first person you think of when the Philadelphia Phillies come to mind.
The 24-year-old has appeared in 214 games over his three-year career. He’s slashing a meager .259/.301/.341 this season with one home run and 11 runs batted in on 25 strikeouts. Still, he’s started 35 of 50 games for a ballclub currently leading the National League East. You’d think that would be enough to earn him some form of recognition.

That was not the case in Colorado on Thursday.
Prior to the Phillies’ series finale against the Rockies, Rojas was warming up on the field when he left to go take a phone call. Matt Gelb of The Athletic captured what happened next:
Props to Zack Wheeler for having his teammate’s back. But you really can’t fault the Rockies too much here. No one would expect a franchise this abysmal to know what a Major League Baseball player looks like.
