1966 – Giusti day

An 8-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs is highlighted by Houston Astros starting pitcher Dave Giusti, who threw a complete game on the mound and went 3-for-3 at the plate, including a double. He was also helped out by home runs from John Bateman, Rusty Straub and Dave Nicholson.

1978 – Good and bad

Despite setting a new team record for errors in a game with seven as a team, the Astros exploded for a late-game six-run rally in the eighth to top the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-5. Jesus Alou was the one who got everything started with a leadoff double.

1933 – Sour welcome to Colorado

In the first trip for the Astros to Denver to face the Colorado Rockies, the Astros quickly went up 7-0 before it all came crashing down. When all was said and done, the Astros ended up losing 14-11.
