Rose Capital West won the Little League 8U Coach Pitch District 10 championship with a 6-5 victory over Lufkin on Saturday at Morris Frank Park in Lufkin.

Claire May gave Rose Capital West an early 2-1 lead with an RBI single.

Lufkin tied the game in the third inning, but a Nathan Adams two-run hit put Rose Capital West back ahead.

After Lufkin tied the score at 4-4 in the fourth, Liam Lamonte had a sacrifice fly to score Thomas Reed and put Rose Capital West ahead for good.

Defensive standouts for Rose Capital west were outfielder Eli Johnson and pitcher Harrison Chick.

Rose Capital West went undefeated in the tournament, posting wins over Rose Capital East (15-5) and Lufkin (12-8).
