EAST LANSING, Mich. (WNEM) – For the first time in program history, the Standish-Sterling baseball team will be competing for a state championship.
The Panthers defeated Mason today 5-4.
“Feels really good,” junior outfielder Ben Briggs said. “You’ve been working hard all year and finally get to see it come true. It means a lot. I love this school, the best school I could ask for. I’m happy I get to be a part of it.
Junior pitcher Preston Kann added, “It means a ton. I know our boys have been working for it. I know it’s been our goal all season, especially my freshman year, that sucks that we lost, but we’re here. We finally made it, so I’m excited.”
Standish-Sterling will take on Forest Hills Eastern on Saturday at 11:30 AM.
