Carpenter is hitting .268 this season with 13 home runs and 27 RBI for AJ Hinch’s team, one of several Tigers candidates for July 15’s All-Star Game in Atlanta.
He hit .284 last year and is still gathering momentum at the plate, suggesting he still has plenty of room to grow this season as the Tigers remain in hot pursuit of a second consecutive playoff appearance and a run at the best record in Major League Baseball.
