LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – As of mid-June, and for most of the first two months of the season, the Detroit Tigers own the best record in Major League Baseball.

While the players in the majors have created a lot of positive vibes for the organization, the players in the minor leagues have also engendered a lot of hope for the future.

According to MLB.com, the Tigers entered this season with the top farm system in baseball, and two 20-year-olds are a big reason why.

Max Clark and Kevin McGonigle are currently the Tigers’ top two prospects and are playing for the West Michigan Whitecaps, who are the High-A affiliate for the Tigers.

On Friday, the Whitecaps took down the Lansing Lugnuts, 20-6, to clinch their first playoff berth since 2018. Clark and McGonigle have played a big role in the success, and before playing on Friday at Jackson Field, both caught up with 6 Sports.
