Earlier this spring, Carlson High School held a special signing ceremony for multi-sport student-athlete Preston Eighmey, who finalized his decision to play baseball at Spring Arbor University next school year.

Eighmey this spring for the Carlson baseball team appeared in 35 games and logged over 100 plate appearances, compiling a .337 batting average and a .441 on-base percentage. He shared the team lead for runs batted in with 22 while also scoring 18 runs himself.

Eighmey was also a member of the boys’ varsity tennis program for three years at Carlson. This past fall season, he was the No. 1 singles player — after being slotted in the No. 2 doubles flight his junior year — for a Marauders team that claimed the outright Downriver League championship.
