OMAHA, Neb. (WMBF) – Coastal Carolina University Baseball’s winning streak is rolling on.
The No. 13-seeded Chanticleers took on No. 8-seeded Oregon State University in Game 6 of the College World Series after beating the University of Arizona 7-4 on Friday.

The Chants answered early in the first inning, with Lumberton native Colby Thorndyke clearing the bases with a two-out double, with an early 3-0 advantage over Oregon State.
Oregon State answered back in the top of the third inning with a home run to right field, making it 3-1 heading into the 4th inning.
CCU extended its lead in the 4th inning when Caden Bodine stepped up to the plate with two on base when he hit the ball toward centerfield, making it possible for Dean Mihos to score.
In the same inning, a wild pitch from Oregon State helped Wells Sykes cross over home plate, bringing the score to 5-1 heading into the 5th inning.
CCU added to its lead in the 5th inning when Mihos hit a double to deep left center field, which brought Thorndyke to home base.
CCU headed into the 6th with a 6-1 lead over Oregon State.
Oregon State only had one run going into the bottom of the 9th, until Gavin Turley stepped up to the plate and hit a home run into left field.
But it wasn’t enough, and the Chants defeated Oregon State 6-2.
Saturday’s win extended CCU’s win streak to 25 games.
The Chants will play the winner of Game 9 at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
