1967 – The ultimate turnaround
After shipping closer Claude Raymond to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for Wade Blasingame just minutes before the end of the deadline, Raymond saves a 9-8 win for the Braves against the Houston Astros.
1972 – Wynn for the win
Not able to get anything across against the eventual Cy Young winner Steve Carlton on the mound for the Philadelphia Phillies, the two teams head to extras tied at zero. That was when Astros slugger Jim Wynn belted a walk-off solo-shot in the 11th for the 1-0 win.
1995 – Back-and-forth
In a 16-inning thriller, the Astros outdueled the New York Mets to win 7-5. This included the Astros going up two separate times in extras, once in the 12th and again in the 15th. It wasn’t till the Astros loaded the bases for Jeff Bagwell that they were able to get and keep the lead.
