The trial for a former Major League Baseball pitcher accused of shooting his in-laws is expected to start Monday in Placer County.Prosecutors believe Dan Serafini, with the help of his friend Samantha Scott, ambushed 70-year-old Robert Gary Spohr and 68-year-old Wendy Wood during a burglary at the Spohrs’ Lake Tahoe home in June 2021.
