The first batch of MLB All Star Game voting results are in, and Jacob Wilson is in play to start this year’s midsummer classic.

Wilson, the rookie phenom shortstop of the Athletics, has secured over 560,000 votes to start the July 15th MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta, putting him nearly 40,000 votes ahead of last year’s MVP runner-up and Kansas City Royals star shortstop Bobby Witt Jr.

The 23-year-old currently ranks second in all of baseball in batting average (.362), only trailing reigning American League MVP winner Aaron Judge.

More on Jacob Wilson & 2025 MLB All Star Game voting

Wilson is the current favorite to take home American League Rookie of the Year honors, and baseball fans around the globe have taken notice–the proof is in the MLB All-Star Game voting results.

Over 68 games this season, Wilson has hit eight home runs, driven in 38 runs, and nearly walked (14) as many times as he has struck out (18).

Phase 1 of the MLB All Star Game voting process concludes on June 26 at noon ET. If he remains in the top shortstop spot, Wilson will automatically receive a starting spot in the American League lineup for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard at Truist Park in Atlanta on July 15.
