CLEVELAND, Ohio — Stephen Vogt is going to the All-Star Game on July 17 at Atlanta.

Vogt, whose Guardians came within three wins of reaching the World Series last year before falling to the Yankees in the American League Championship Series, has been named to the AL’s All-Star Game coaching staff by Yankee manager Aaron Boone.

Hall of Famer and former Yankee manager Joe Torre has been named as an honorary coach for the AL.

Dave Roberts, whose Dodgers beat the Yankees in the World Series, will manage the National League All-Stars.

Vogt was named to two All-Star Games as a player with the Oakland A’s in 2015 and 2016.

Last year he replaced Terry Francona as Guardians manager and led the team to the AL Central championship. The Guardians beat the Tigers in the AL Division Series before losing to the Yankees in the ALCS.

He was named AL Manager of the Year by the Baseball Writers Association of America.
