I THOUGHT THE FIELD WAS A LOT BIGGER, BUT I MEAN, IT LOOKS LIKE A HIGH SCHOOL FIELD, HONESTLY. SO A LITTLE SCARED IN THAT HOT CORNER AT THIRD BASE. NOT GOING TO LIE. THIS IS THE FIRST SET OF GAMES BIG LEAGUE DREAM DAY HAS HOSTED AT PNC PARK. ORGANIZERS TEAMING UP WITH THE PIRATES TO BRING THE BIG LEAGUE ATMOSPHERE TO LIFE. IT’S PRETTY COOL TO SEE THE LOOK ON THEIR FACES JUST TO, YOU KNOW, REALIZE DURING A BALLPARK LIKE PNC PARK, ARGUABLY THE BEST ONE IN THE NATION. SO IT’S IT’S AN AWESOME, AWESOME EXPERIENCE FOR EVERYBODY GAME. I LOVE BASEBALL, I’VE COACHED IT. AND I HOPE THE PLAYERS REALLY LIVE THIS DAY TO THE FULLEST. EVERY HIT OUT AND CATCH HAD THE FEELING OF A BIG LEAGUE GAME FOR FATHER AND SON. MARK AND LUCAS JANEIRO. IT’S A MOMENT THEY’LL CHERISH AND HOPE. IT’S JUST THE BEGINNING. The Pirates called up prospect Billy Cook from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday, a move that could help generate some offense for the struggling club.Cook joined the team in Detroit, where the Pirates will play a doubleheader against the Tigers on Thursday.A first baseman by trade, Cook has played all three outfield positions. He fills the roster spot of outfielder Bryan Reynolds, who has been placed on the paternity leave list.The 26-year-old Cook is getting his first opportunity in the big leagues this year, after playing 16 games with the Pirates in the final month of the 2024 season.Cook has had a strong start to 2025 in Indianapolis, especially in June, batting .458 with four doubles this month.Overall, Cook was batting .271 with 11 doubles, one triple and 20 RBI in 61 games at Indianapolis this season.
