Paige Bueckers is acclimating herself to stardom in Texas.
The Dallas Wings rookie and UConn women’s basketball legend threw out the first pitch at the Texas Rangers game against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday. She’s no stranger to throwing out first pitches, as she’s took the mound in her home state of Minnesota ahead of a Twins game last season.
Bueckers waved to the crowd and tossed the ball in the air a few times before firing a strike on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old returned last week after missing four games due to concussion symptoms. She scored a career-high 35 points in her return, then led the Wings with 20 points, four steals and two blocks as Dallas won its second game of the season on Tuesday.
Bueckers is averaging 17.7 points, 5.7 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game in her rookie season.
She and the Wings will play at Connecticut on Friday, in Paige’s second game in the state since she left UConn.
