NEW YORK – A second rain delay interrupted the Yankees’ series finale against the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.
Play resumed after a 35-minute delay, with a healthy portion of an announced crowd of 45,671 fans still in attendance.
With the Yanks leading 5-3, runners at first and second and none out in the bottom of the eighth, the trap was rolled back onto the field.
The first rain delay, in the bottom of the second inning, lasted just eight minutes.
Devin Williams was warming up for the Yankees at the time of the eighth inning delay, preparing to close out the Angels and end the Yankees’ season high six-game losing streak.
