Gwinnett Stripers 8, Charlotte Knights 1 (Statcast box)
The Knights (35-37) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Joshua Palacios launched his first dinger of the season to center field.

Sadly, that would be the only run of the evening for Charlotte. Despite a double by Tristan Gray in the fourth and Corey Julks in the sixth, the Knights struggled to string together hits, leaving nine men on base and going 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position.

On the mound, Noah Schultz, making his first Triple-A start, yielded five runs on nine hits over 5 1⁄3 innings. The southpaw fanned five batters and induced 16 swings and misses with a 37 CSW%. While the promotion to Charlotte is an aggressive one for Schultz, the 21-year-old still has plenty of time to keep working on his developmental plan. He showed several promising signs by allowing only one walk and pitching into the sixth inning.

Relievers Bryse Wilson and Justin Anderson both held the RiverDogs scoreless. However, Penn Murfee was shaky in his one frame, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk, though he did manage to strike out three batters.

It was a back-and-forth contest this evening in Birmingham. Rikuu Nishida’s RBI bunt single in the third put the Barons (36-30) on the board, and the team added two more runs in the fourth on an RBI ground out by Jacob Burke and a double from Jason Matthews.

The Barons took advantage of some fielding miscues by the Clingstones, who had five errors on the night, leading to a total of three unearned runs. A sacrifice bunt by William Bergolla in the seventh resulted in a throwing error, allowing Rikuu Nishida to score, followed by an RBI single from Jacob Gonzalez, providing the Barons with a 6-4 advantage. Birmingham padded their lead in the eighth with an RBI single from Bergolla and another unearned run.

On the mound, Barons starter Riley Gowens navigated through early traffic, limiting the damage in the first three innings before giving up two runs in the fourth. Jared Kelley entered in the fifth and pitched well until the seventh, when he allowed two tallies, tying the contest at 4-4. Jarold Rosado took over and was credited with the win after the Barons reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the seventh. Tyler Davis closed out the game with a scoreless eighth and ninth, earning his first save.

Charleston RiverDogs 5, Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 1
The Ballers (32-34) found themselves on the wrong side of a 5-1 scoreline despite outhitting the RiverDogs 6-to-3. Kanny struggled to piece together any consistent offense, with their only tally coming in the bottom of the second. After back-to-back walks with two outs, T.J. McCants singled home Lyle Miller-Green. Mikey Kane also tried to score but was thrown out at home.

Starter Justin Sinibaldi struggled early, giving up a three-run blast in the third. Reliever Liam Paddack didn’t help out the effort either, failing to command any control of his pitches by issuing four walks, a hit batter, and a wild pitch, resulting in two more runs.

ACL White Sox 11, ACL Dodgers 4
The ACL Sox (19-15) bats exploded early, putting up five runs in the first inning, highlighted by D’Angelo Tejada’s two-run double and an RBI single from Leandro Alsinois. Tejada continued his strong performance with a solo home run in the third, followed by another solo shot from Alsinois, extending the lead to 7-0. The Sox added two more in the fourth, which was highlighted by an RBI triple to center from Albertson Asigen. And finally, they tacked on two additional tallies in the eighth for good measure, including some wild pitch offense and an RBI base hit from Asigen.

While starting pitcher Jordany Chirinos allowed four runs (three earned) through four innings of work, the bullpen, including Jesús Méndez, Madison Jeffrey, and Gil Luna, limited further damage, allowing the Sox to hold on for the win.
