Sheehan started Wednesday’s game against the San Diego Padres, his first outing since undergoing Tommy John surgery. Sheehan allowed one earned run on three hits. He threw six strikeouts and issued no walks.
Sheehan last pitched for the Dodgers in 2023, where he sported a 4.92 ERA with 64 strikeouts to 26 walks across 60.1 innings pitched.
The Dodgers’ decision to send Sheehan down is surprising, but given the right-hander’s performance Wednesday, he will likely be called up soon.
Little was with the Dodgers last weekend as part of the taxi squad, but was never officially called up. With Triple-A Oklahoma City, the right-hander is 3-2 with a 2.20 ERA, 33 strikeouts, and 1.16 WHIP across 26 games this season. He also has 10 saves in 11 opportunities.
Little was with the team in big league camp, where he logged a 5.79 ERA over five appearances.
