{KXLG – Omaha, NE} Watertown Post 17 secured a narrow 8-7 victory over Fremont, Nebraska, on day two of the Creighton Prep Tournament in Omaha. The win improves Watertown’s overall record to 23-18, with a 12-6 tournament standing.
Mitch Olson was a key contributor for Watertown, tallying four of the team’s ten hits and driving in three runs. Markus Pitkin added a two-run home run in the third inning, contributing three RBIs on the night. Nash Berg and Hayden Ries also recorded multiple hits in the contest.
On the mound, Jackson McClemans pitched five innings, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out nine batters to earn the win. Carter Buisker pitched two innings in relief.
Watertown is scheduled to continue tournament play today in Omaha. It will face Rocky Mountain, Colorado, at noon, followed by a matchup against Prior Lake, Minnesota, at 2:30 p.m.
