The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox know a little bit about that.
The Red Sox crushed three long bombs Friday night to earn a 9-2 win over Chatham.
With the victory, the Red Sox improve to 3-2, while the Anglers drop to 2-3.
In the bottom of the second, Yarmouth-Dennis’ Cody Miller (East Tennessee State) scored on a wild pitch for the game’s first run.
In the bottom of the third, Dean Carpentier (Southern California) scored on a fielder’s choice.
In the bottom of the fourth, Miller homered to center to give his team a 3-2 lead.
In the sixth, AJ Soldra (Seton Hall) belted a three-run home run to center field, bringing home Alex Hernandez (Georgia Tech) and Nolan Traeger (Texas Christian).
The Red Sox went deep again in the seventh, as Hernandez sent a blast to right center to score Brayden Dowd (Southern California) and Chris Hacopian (Maryland).
Chatham scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning. Henry Ford (Virginia) homered to right, bringing home Ethan Mendoza (Texas).

Harwich Mariners 5, Cotuit Kettleers 0
The Mariners (4-2) pitched well and found enough offense to beat the Kettleers (1-5).
The Mariners had strong pitching from Jake McCoy (South Carolina), Ryan Bilka (Richmond), and Michael Gray (Denison). The three combined on the shutout, allowing four hits, with 12 strikeouts and two walks.
The Mariners scored two in the top of the third. On a Kyle Wolff (Boston College) single to left, Tre Broussard (Houston) and Bristol Carter (Auburn) scored.
In the top of the fifth, the Mariners struck again. Tyler Bell (Kentucky) doubled home Maddox Molony (Oregon). Dee Kennedy (Kansas State) followed with another double, as Wolff and Bell scored.
