Several local baseball and softball players got the respect of the working sports media in our area this past week, being named to the 2025 All-Bayou Region Baseball and Softball Teams.
The teams were announced this past week with Lafourche players scattered all across the rosters.
The 2025 All-Bayou Region Baseball and Softball Teams were voted on by sports media, correspondents and dignitaries in our area.
The Lafourche Gazette is proud to have a vote in the teams.
On the baseball side, CCA was extremely well-represented with the MVP, Coach of the Year and 5 players on the First-Team.
Pitcher Owen Trosclair took MVP honors after being a force both on the mound and at the plate for a CCA team that broke the LHSAA record for consecutive wins,, starting 36-0 before losing in the Division IV Select State Semifinals. The Lions’ coach, Joe Teuton also on Coach of the Year for his work with the team.
On the softball side, it was Vandebilt who was very well-represented with the MVP, Coach of the Year and 4 players on the First-Team.
The Terriers won their second-straight State Championship this season – an amazing feat considering that the team had zero seniors.
