CREIGHTON – Wyatt Shabram was dominant on the mound, as the pitcher rang up 10 strikeouts in Tri-County Titan Seniors’s 2-1 victory over Post 81/ BullSnakes (Wakefield) yesterday to win the seniors bracket of the Berry Pepper Days Tournament.
Shabram surrendered nine hits and one run over seven innings while walking two.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Tri-County Titan Seniors pitchers struck out 10, while Wakefield also sat down 10.
Tri-County Titan Seniors opened the scoring in the first after an error scored one run.
Jesse Lundahl homered to center field, which helped Wakefield tie the game at one in the top of the third.
Tri-County Titan Seniors took the lead in the bottom of the third. Connor Thomson grounded out, scoring one run, to give Tri-County Titan Seniors the edge, 2-1.
Mason Lamprecht took the loss for Wakefield. The pitcher went six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out 10 and walking two.
Connor Thomson led Tri-County Titan Seniors with one run batted in. Shabram led Tri-County Titan Seniors with two hits in two at bats. Coy Wickersham stole two bases. Tri-County Titan Seniors turned one double play in the game.
Lamprecht, Lundahl, Jacob Birkley, and Adrian Flores each collected two hits Wakefield. Lundahl led Wakefield with one run batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-3 on the day.
