LOS ANGELES (KLTV) – Former Mount Pleasant Tiger Michael Kopech earned his fourth hold of the season in the Dodgers’ 6-5 win over the Washington Nationals on Friday.
The right-hander entered the game in the sixth inning and relieved Texas-native Clayton Kershaw.
Kopech forced Andres Chaparro to fly out to center field for the first out of the inning before striking out Nathaniel Lowe for two quick outs. Kopech allowed a single to Brady House before getting Alex Call to go down on strikes and end the frame.
Kopech threw 13 pitches, with nine of them being strikes.
The Dodgers (48-31) head to Colorado to begin a series with the Rockies (18-60) on Tuesday.
