KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – One of the top prospects in the Kansas City Royals organization is one step closer to a return to his hometown.
Royals prospect Carter Jensen, a Park Hill High School alum, was promoted to Triple-A Omaha, the club announced Monday.
Jensen had a .292 average, 6 home runs and 37 RBI in 274 at-bats with the Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals this season.
The 21-year-old from Kansas City was drafted by the Royals in the third round of the 2021 MLB Draft. The young catcher has played 441 career games in the minor leagues during his four seasons as a professional.
He is the third-ranked prospect in the Royals system according to MLB.com’s prospect rankings. That list does include Jac Caglianone, who fast-tracked his way through the Royals minor league system and has been with the Royals MLB team since early June after being selected in the first round of last year’s draft.
