Who should represent Detroit Tigers in MLB All-Star game?
The “Days of Roar” podcast debates which players from the Detroit Tigers should make an appearance in the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, set for July 15.
The Detroit Tigers get a day off before returning home for their latest homestand.
The Tigers avoided a sweep at the hands of the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend, winning 9-3 on Sunday, June 22, after a rainstorm suddenly awoke Detroit’s bats in the ninth inning. They head back to Detroit to start a six-game homestand, beginning with a three-game series against the Athletics from Tuesday, June 24, to Thursday, June 26.
Detroit has now lost two of its past three series but maintains the best record in MLB at 49-30, one game ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers at 48-31. The Tigers are currently on a 100-win pace, which would give the franchise its first 100-win season since 1984.

The Tigers’ past two series — a three-game home set against the Pittsburgh Pirates and their most recent series against the Rays — have both been impacted by rain, with doubleheaders, delays and sloppy play highlighting the past six games. Though the Tigers will avoid the worst Michigan heat on Monday, forecasted temperatures for Comerica Park on Tuesday reach into the low-90s with high humidity.
And as of now, there is rain in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday.
The Athletics are in the process of relocating to Las Vegas, currently with a three-year commitment to play in West Sacramento while the Vegas stadium awaits construction. They have dropped a city affiliation from their official team name for the 2025 season and are known just as the “Athletics.”
At 32-48, the Athletics are in last place in the American League West and have lost four out of their past six games. However, they have played better on the road than at home, with a .447 winning percentage away from West Sacramento and a .357 percentage at Sutter Health Park.
