See Knoxville Smokies historic opening day at new downtown stadium
See Knoxville Smokies historic opening day at Covenant Health Park, in Knoxville, Tenn., April 16, 2025.
Knox News has created more collectable memorabilia to its mix celebrating the inaugural season at Covenant Health Park, and all you have to do to get it is show up at the stadium today.
Remember those Knoxville-themed baseball cards we distributed around Covenant Health Park when the stadium opened April 15? They’re back, and you won’t want to miss them this go-round.
Knox News will be in and around Covenant Health Park with one of four cards in hand June 24. Rather than players, the cards feature photos of One Knox SC fan section the Scruffs, the stadium’s water tower, the Old City neighborhood and the always popular Smokies mascots.
Find a Knox News journalist to get your own or stop by Visit Knoxville and Bethie Lou’s Fabulous Gift Store, where an employee will slip you a card just for shopping local. You also can get a free card when ordering to-go beer from Knox Brew Hub just off Market Square.
Additionally, our Knox News team will have copies of our recurring special section dedicated to stories about Covenant Health Park, the Smokies and One Knox. Grab a copy to meet the teams, navigate the stadium and learn about Knoxville’s baseball history.
If you can’t catch one of our journalists near the stadium or didn’t keep the insert from your Sunday newspaper, a handful of these special sections could still be floating around Old City restaurants and bars.
So, keep supporting local and cheering for the Smokies as they return for a six-game home series against the Birmingham Barons.
