Tigers legend Kirk Gibson received the Fred Valentin Lifetime Award on Wednesday from the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. Gibson, who helped the Tigers win the 1984 World Series, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and has since started a foundation to raise awareness.
