The game began 4-and-a-half hours late due to a rain delay in Minneapolis. Down 2-0 in the 6th, Mitch Garver had the leave the game after getting hit in the jaw with a baseball. Cal Raleigh moved from DH to catch so Seattle had to juggle pitchers from there and the Twins took advantage, scoring 8-runs in the 6th. Miles Mastrobuoni, a position player, pitched the 8th inning to finish the game.
Seattle heads to Texas after splitting the series with Minnesota. So far on the road trip, the Mariners are 4-and-3 as they begin a three-game series in Arlington tonight at 5:05 on ROOT Sports Northwest.
Houston just continues to win. The Astros beat Philadelphia 2-1 last night to improve to 15-games above .500 and extend its lead in the A-L West by 6-and-a-half games over Seattle. The Angels and Rangers were idle last night. Detroit blanked the Athletics 8-nothing.
